What guidu is

A career guide you play.

guidu helps people choosing what to do with their lives discover who they are, see where they can go and try the path before deciding. Instead of a questionnaire, a short game. Instead of a report, a journey.

No questionnaire

You play. guidu understands.

Instead of asking "are you organised?", guidu puts you in concrete situations and lets you choose. On screen it's a card game that takes a few minutes. What comes out is a portrait of you that you recognise — no score, no label, no wrong answer.

It is the opposite of an aptitude test: nobody rates themselves, and nobody gets a report.

The backpack

Nothing you have lived gets thrown away.

Everything that shows up about you is kept in your backpack, and the backpack never empties. Who you are becomes a patch; what you know how to do becomes a tool inside it. Changed your mind about the career? The backpack is still yours.

The patches

The way you are. They arrive while you play and they never leave.

The tools

What you know how to do. They pile up as you live the scenes.

A few tools that go into the backpack:

  • Communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Creativity
  • Collaboration
  • Leadership
  • Adaptability

The match

A profession that looks like you, and the degree that leads there.

The match comes from guidu's own algorithm, which crosses what you chose with a base of careers and degrees kept by our data team. It shows the profession that fits you and, right below it, the degree that opens that door.

You keep the options that make sense and come back to them whenever you want.

After the match

Try it before you choose.

Every career becomes a series. You step into short episodes with situations that really happen in that job, you decide what you would do, and you come to understand the profession from the inside. Getting it wrong takes nothing away from you: guidu explains and the story goes on.

A real scene, from the Marketing series

Your sneaker brand is launching a new model. The team wants to spend the whole budget on an expensive video. But who actually buys from you?

Getting it wrong takes nothing away from you: guidu explains and the story goes on.

guidu

You don't walk alone.

The capybara with the backpack is guidu herself. She comments on what you do, remembers what you have found out and answers your career questions from ready-made topics — the conversation is guided, never an open chat.

That's how it works in the app: you pick from ready-made topics. There is no free text box — on purpose, because a good share of the people using guidu are teenagers.
